For gamers planning marathon play sessions, Plantronics and Dolby state they’ve a new headphone that will help reduce ‘listening fatigue’.
The headset, GameCom 777, comes with Dolby headphone technology and processes two-channel stereo audio into five channels of surround sound.
The idea is to give gamers rich audio that can help them play war and action games superior by being able to pinpoint where the sound is coming from, states Plantronics.
The GameCom 777 headphone has Dolby ProLogic II technology in a plug-and-play USB sound card and a boom mike discreetly tucked into the headband. A noise-canceling microphone and simple to access volume controls completes the package.
Gamers can also turn off the Dolby surround sound with in-line volume control.
The headphones aren’t pretty but Plantronics states they are rugged and the earpods are well-cushioned to make them comfortable.
They’ll ship next Thursday and are priced at $99.
