Michel Gondry, the French director of Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, is ideal known for the way he creates brilliant visual effects by blending each day items like play-doh and cardboard boxes along with regular THX-Hollywood solutions. Playing upon the plot of his new motion picture Be Kind Rewind, where two guys remake movies on the cheap, Gondry has created a few different “Sweded” versions of familiar webpages, such as the Apple iPod webpage. Sweding is defined in the movie as the act of “remaking something from scratch using whatever you can get your hands on.”

As you can see above, his Sweded versions of the Apple iPod line loses the clean and attractive lines that we tend to anticipate from their gadgets, but you’ve to admit that the simplicity is pretty accurate. Johnathan Ive’s controlled design instinct is probably cringing right now.
